Soldeu offers excellent value for money, a wealth of off-piste activities and some superb skiing.
The Grandvalira ski area has invested 1 billion euro in infrastructure in recent years, expanding terrain, developing a lift system that can take over 100,000 skiers an hour up the mountain, extending snow-making facilities and introducing new activities.
The investment is clear to see in Soldeu, home to the fantastic Sport Wellness Mountain spa with its 5,000 square metres of spa facilities. It’s one of those places we find ourselves dreaming about as ski season approaches!
Set in the heart of the Andorran Pyrenees, sunny Soldeu is a great base from which to explore the 210km Grandvalira ski area, taking in neighbouring El Tarter and nearby Pas de la Casa during the course of a ski day.
Soldeu offers value for money for families and a great ski school with English-speaking instructors. It also has terrain to suit all levels; there are excellent beginner and early intermediate slopes, two free-ride areas and an extended terrain park. If you’re feeling fit, head to the Aliga slope in El Tarter which was revamped and approved as a downhill race course a few years ago!
Children & Childcare in Resort
NURSERY
There are 4 nurseries for children aged between 12 months and 4 years, at Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu and Grau Roig. The Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo kindergartens only accept children over 24 months old. Children between 12 and 24 months old should go to the Grau Roig kindergarten. At these nurseries, qualified carers will look after the children in warm, comfortable surroundings, well equipped with everything they need to play and enjoy themselves whilst you are doing the same.

CHILDREN'S SCHOOL
The Grandvalira Ski and Snowboard School has programmes and specialised instructors for children from 3 to 6 years. We offer one-on-one or group classes, depending on the child's level. Private instructors are also available for those seeking to perfect their skills and increase their level, ensuring good progress. Inflatable objects and a variety of modules are installed in the learning areas to provide non-stop fun. Parents can watch their children progress from the terraces of nearby cafés and restaurants, which command full views of the snow gardens. Grandvalira contains five snow gardens: in Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa.
