Located high in the Pyrenees on the western side of the principality, the lively resort of Arinsal is very popular with families and younger groups of skiers who enjoy the 'après' as much as the 'ski'!
A single lift pass covers three areas in Vallnord – Arinsal, Pal and Arcalis. With a high point of 2,560 metres, 63km of terrain and 31 lifts, families enjoy Arinsal’s smaller scale while younger groups love its lively nightlife. Freeride fans will discover something of a hidden gem in nearby Arcalis. Linked to Arinsal by bus, it has off-piste terrain to keep even the most fervent powder hound satisfied.
Situated in the west of the Andorran Pyrenees close to the Spanish border, Arinsal’s beginner slopes are perfect for young children learning to ski while intermediate skiers and boarders will enjoy its wide open slopes and the pretty, tree-lined runs at Pal.
For a relatively small area, Vallnord offers an amazing range of activities, including baby clubs, airboarding, boardercross, a freestyle area for teenagers, ski biking, speedriding (a combination of paragliding and skiing), sledging, a children’s snow park and avalanche training for off-piste skiers and boarders.
The resort offers a range of restaurants including Catalan, Mexican, Italian and Argentinian while some bars are family-friendly, with regular entertainment. Catalan is the official language but English, French and Spanish are widely spoken.
As the Catalans say, bones vacances!

The kindergarten is in a building located at the bottom of the beginner's slopes, 100 meters from the upper gondola station and is just like any other kindergarten with kind and qualified staff. They accept children, aged 1 to 4 years, however they do not feed the children so you will have to organise yourself for lunch. Opening hours are 08:30 to 17:00 Children must be able to walk (or at least more or less) in order to be admitted.
The snow park is a closed off area, also located at the bottom of the beginner's slopes. The children, aged 4 to 8 years, play in the snow and learn how to ski with qualified instructors. If you are putting your children in the snow park, they will need ski equipment and lunch will need to be organised separately.
Please Note: You do not have to reserve the kindergarten and snowpark in advance. You can go to the ski school upon arrival and arrange everything right there and then. As tour operator groups only arrive on Sunday afternoon and start skiing on Monday, you will have first choice.
