Part of the Paradiski area, Les Arcs is set amidst the stunning landscape of the French Alps, offering over 425km of mainly blue and red ski slopes - a ski lovers paradise!
Naming this ski area Paradiski was no overstatement, with its bountiful selection of slopes, Les Arcs offers doorstep skiing and boasts a great variety of runs to suit all levels, including gentler slopes for younger family members and steeper, more challenging runs for fearless skiers. Skiing is hugely varied and there will be something to suit every level. Every village has nursery slopes for those finding their feet, there are a vast array of blue and red runs and of course some white knuckle black slopes including a 7km run down from the Aiguille Rouge. Most of the routes here have an easier and a more difficult route- perfect for groups of different levels to be able to ski together.
The original village of Les Arcs dates back to 1968 and was a trailblazer at the time, in that accommodation was being purpose built, solely for skiers. As a result, convenience is key here and getting to the slopes is just as easy as it can be. There are a number of beautiful resorts in Les Arcs each with their own charm and merits and the high altitude usually means great snow conditions.
If you are looking for a lively aprés-ski scene Arc 1800 is the way to go. There are a great selection of bars and clubs and they range from the quiet drink after the last lift, to partying until 4am and dancing on the bar tops. The other resorts also have good options from enjoying a vin chaud by the fireside to slightly livelier choices. And not forgetting the restaurants! The food here is great!
There are plenty of activities in Les Arcs to keep all ages entertained. Outdoor options include ice skating, tobogganing, dog sledding and paragliding, as well as selection of cinemas and bowling alleys to keep you occupied.
