Discover North Lake Garda where staggering mountains provide a dramatic backdrop, tranquil waters enchant and the fruits of the surrounding vineyards of Trentino delight!
For the duration of your time here, you will stay at the Hotel Majestic Palace. This modern hotel comes highly recommended by Topflight guests due to its high standards of service, great leisure amenities and beautiful setting in the midst of a picturesque olive grove.
Depart on a direct flight to Verona airport where you will be met by Topflight’s representative. You will take a 90-minute journey, via coach, to the four star Hotel Majestic Palace where you will stay for 7 nights on a half board basis.
Today you have time to spend making use of the fantastic facilities available at your hotel. But if you feel like venturing out to discover the beautiful Malcesine, you’re in for a treat.
Late in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel by your coach, which will take you to a typical Italian vineyard. Taste the fruits of this beautiful wine region’s surrounds and enjoy exploring the flavours of Lake Garda’s finest wines. Your charismatic tour guide will not only ensure you see and learn how the local wines are produced, they will make sure you are provided with tasty snacks to soak up the delicious wines you'll sample, all the while having plenty of fun.
You will depart the vineyard and the coach will take you onwards to a Grappa distillery. This uniquely Italian drink is made from ‘pomace’ which is a by-product of the winemaking process. You will learn how this brandy-like drink is produced and you’ll get to taste some of this famous Italian ‘firewater’.
After a day of learning about wine and grappa, an integral part of Italian culture, you will return to your hotel in time for your evening meal.
This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel to enjoy a scenic coach ride to Venice, where you will take a two-hour guided visit of the Floating City. The tour includes a private motorboat ride along the Grand Canal to St. Mark’s Square, taking in the sights of the Basilica and Bridge of Sighs, then continues on foot to the Rialto Bridge, a marvellous feat of engineering.
You will have free time for lunch, and will have no problem finding a tasty spot to dine upon some great Venetian fare. You will also have time to wander the boutiques and quaint shops that line the narrow, labyrinthine back streets of this enchanting city. Should you wish to do more, a gondola ride or sightseeing cruise on the lagoon are payable locally. Return to the coach on private motorboat, passing St. George’s Island, home to one of the architectural glories of Venice, the majestic Church of San Giorgio Maggiore.
The coach will pick you up from the hotel this morning, to enjoy a tour around the towns and villages of Lake Garda. Firstly you will stop at the town of Salo where you will have some free time to explore. Salo’s historical centre is a combination of streets, lanes and little squares with beautiful houses and elegant shops and restaurants dotted around. You will have some time to explore this beautiful area before being brought to Sirmione on the southern bank of Lake Garda. Renowned for its natural thermal waters, the spa town of Sirmione is located at the end of a narrow peninsula that juts 4km from the southern shore of the lake. Next you will stop at the lovely medieval town of Lazise where you will have some free time to explore. The old centre is guarded by its town walls which open onto one of the most enchanting and delightful harbours on the whole of Lake Garda. This is a beautiful little town, even by Garda’s very high standards.
You have a couple of days to fully relax and enjoy the resort of Malcesine and perhaps make use of the wonderful facilities of your hotel.
Transfer to your departure airport for your return flight, or if you wish, you can extend your stay for a second week on Lake Garda.
This property is offered on a Half Board basis.
You'll stay in the lovely 4 star Hotel Majestic Palace in Malcesine, a beautiful medieval town at the foot of Mount Baldo.
Lynsey has been a Topflight Resort Manager for over 5-years during both the summer and winter seasons. During the winter months, Lynsey can be found skiing with Topflight clients in Westendorf. In summer, she trades-in her skis for sandals as our Resort Manager for Limone and Riva. Lynsey knows all the ins and outs of 'la bella vita' on Lake Garda, and should be your go-to for help or even a quick chat.
I have been a Topflight Resort Manager for 6 winter seasons in Austria but after I took a holiday to Lake Garda myself last summer, I could not miss the chance to come back for an entire summer season. I was captivated by the Lake for it's beautiful scenery, intriguing history, fantastic food, slow pace of life and who could pass up a morning swim or paddle board.
