Perched high above the Tarentaise valley at around 2,100m, Aime La Plagne—also known as Plagne Aime 2000—is the highest village in the La Plagne ski area. With sweeping views of Mont Blanc and unbeatable ski-in/ski-out access, it’s the perfect choice for those seeking convenience, comfort and incredible alpine scenery.
Beginner and intermediate skiers will feel right at home here, with two gentle learner zones in the centre and a wide selection of cruisy blues and reds heading down to nearby Montalbert. For the more adventurous, unpisted “natur” black runs through the trees lead down toward Plagne 1800. The village also links easily to Plagne Centre via a relaxed blue run or the Telemetro lift.
The village itself is centred around a large, modern complex where you’ll find a supermarket, ski shops, restaurants, a ski school, and stalls brimming with local cheeses and meats—ideal for a post-ski treat or a cosy night in.
Après ski in Aime La Plagne is relaxed and sociable, with a handful of welcoming bars like La Rhumerie offering live music and local charm. And if you’re in the mood for something livelier, hop on the Telemetro and explore the après scene in neighbouring Plagne Centre.
Don’t miss the spectacular Grotte de Glace at the top of the Bellecôte glacier—an enchanting ice cave filled with shimmering sculptures. It’s a magical alpine experience that adds a touch of wonder to any ski holiday.

In my free time at home in Dublin, you'll probably find me on a yoga mat, the tennis court or a hiking trail somewhere. I am passionate about skiing and the mountains, working or enjoying the mountain life in resorts in the Austrian and French alps, as well as the Pyrenees and Nepalese Himalayas over the years. Hello and welcome to France! My name is Louise or ‘Lou’. I'm from Australia, which you'll probably tell from my accent, although some people say l have an Irish head on me! We don’t have any big mountains in Australia and not a lot of snow so I am lucky enough to come and work in the European Alps for the Winter. This will be my 5th ski season for Topflight & DirectSki, working in both Austria and France.
