Ski Holidays 2013

Toronto is an ethnically diverse city and has grown to become the cultural and economic hub of English-speaking Canada and is today the nation's most populated city. There are so many exciting events and attractions in Toronto, a world of opportunities await!

Located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario, it is also provincial capital of the province of Ontario (not to be confused with the capital of Canada, Ottawa). In recent decades Toronto has been transformed into one of the world's most culturally diverse cities. More than 80 ethnic communities are represented, while over half of the city's residents were born outside Canada - a diversity reflected by an exceptionally wide range of restaurants, bistros, cafes and other excellent eateries catering for every palate and taste.

You will have a hard time deciding what to see and do during your stay in Toronto. Choose between film festivals, internationally inspired culinary events, major league sports, live music of all genres, theatre in Toronto's Broadway District and one-of-a-kind experiences. Looking for something different? Why not visit the Hockey Hall of Fame hosting the largest collection of hockey artifacts in the world . Toronto's numerous attractions include the city's waterfront, one of the largest recreational amenities of its kind in North America, which provides the scenic venue for a whole host of popular attractions, activities and events.

Catch a game - Formerly known as the Skydome and famous for its huge retractable roof, the city's premier sporting arena at the Rogers Centre is home to both the Toronto Argonauts football team and the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team.

The tourist season reaches its peak in Toronto during the summer months as the streets fill up with visitors eager to enjoy the city's many attractions and cultural events. Things are less busy in spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November), which also offer better value.

Toronto Highlights

A Towering Presence

Enjoy the best views in the city from the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere - the CN Tower. Recently nominated as one of the seven wonders of the modern world, the CN Tower is Toronto's most recognisable landmark and features glass floor observation decks, a revolving restaurant and a simulator theatre - all of which helps to explain how this major city attraction receives almost 2 million visitors per year.

You'll Fall For Niagara

Toronto is just 90 minutes from the world famous Niagara Falls, a mere hop, skip and jump in North American terms. Why not make the most of your visit by taking the opportunity to view this most incredible yet easily accessible natural attraction?

What a Wonder

Toronto is home to Canada's Wonderland, a pulsating park boasting no fewer than 200 exhilarating attractions including rides, rollercoasters and waterpark fun all encapsulated in a 330-acre theme park located in Vaughan, Ontario, a suburb approximately 40 kilometres north of Toronto.

Looking for a little helping of culture?

Toronto is renowned for museums, choose from the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Bata Shoe Museum, Ryerson Image Centre and the Aga Khan Museum.

Fun for all the family

Looking to keep the little ones happy? Check out the engaging interactive exhibits at Ontario Science Centre. Head to Toronto Zoo, which boasts over 5,000 animals including the only giant pandas in Canada. Enjoy a royal feast complete with epic battles and jousting tournaments at Medieval Times Dinner and Theatre. Or experience the wonders of marine life up close and personal at the Ripley Aquarium.
