The Dolomite Trek-King experience is unlike any other. You’ll enjoy a 7-night holiday in the heart of the Dolomites mountain range in northeastern Italy, making your way from Fuciada all the way to Costalunga.

Stay in rustic mountain huts throughout your journey, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the mountains. This trip is ideal for hillwalkers who wish to really challenge themselves.

Your Holiday Itinerary

Day1 Arrival in Val di Fassa

Today, you will arrive in Italy, where you will be transferred to your three star accommodation for the night, in Val di Fassa.

Day2 Discovering the Ladin Legends

Average time: 4 to 5 hours / Difficulty: Medium

Today, the real adventure begins. From Pozza di Fassa, you will set out on your guided journey towards Alba di Canazei. Exploring the Ladin mountains, you will be emerged in this region's magical legends. Expect epic vistas of the Fassa Dolomites en route, explore the fortifications left from WW1, and take in the spectacular scenery before arriving to your base for the night, the Rifugio Contrin. Enjoy a well-earned meal here, before retiring to your cosy room to get ready for tomorrow’s trek.

Day3 In the realm of Conturina

Average time: 5 to 6 hours / Difficulty: Medium

Today, you will set out on your next expedition towards the Fedeia Pass. Traverse the beautiful and winding trails which climb towards the San Nicolò Pass and descend into the Ciampac depression, where you can take the cableway to Alba di Canazei. Your journey will continue towards the Fedeia Pass, at an altitude of 2,054 meters, where your mountain hut for the night lies.

Day4 Viel dal Pan

Average time: 5 to 6 hours / Difficulty: Medium

Today’s trip will see you meander through jaw-dropping scenery at a constant altitude of 2,400 meters, as you journey towards the Pordoi Pass. On arrival to the Pordoi Pass, a trip in the cableway to Sass Pordoi - the terrace of the Dolomites - is a must to take in the exceptional 360° vista of the main Dolomite peaks. Continue towards Cod Todella via a leisurely river walk, which leads to the beautiful locality of Ischia in Campitello. From here, you’ll find the base station of the cable way that leads to Col Rodella, where you will stay for the night.

Day5 At the Feet of the Sassolungo Massif

Average time: 6 to 7 hours / Difficulty: Medium

Today’s journey to Rifugio Passo Principe will see you trek the relatively even paths at the feet of Grohmann and Innerkofler peaks, and experience a number of stunning views of the Val di Fassa Dolomites, which boasts magnificent vistas of the eastern wall of the Catinaccio d’Antermoia. Tonight, you will stay at the Rifugio Passo Principe (2,597 meters above sea level).

Day6 The Soul of Monti Pallidi

Average time: 4 to 5 hours / Difficulty: Medium

The tour continues south toward the Vajolet Valley, where views of the legendary Vajolet Towers and the eastern wall of Catinaccio are sure to impress. One of the best known Alpine climbing regions of all time, this is where the exploits of mountaineering pioneers, including Paul Preuss and Tita Piaz, became the stuff of legends. Tonight, you stay in the Rifugio Gardeccia or Rifugio Stella Alpina where you can enjoy some good food, great company and even better views!

Day7 Towards the Roda de Vael

Average time: 4 to 5 hours / Difficulty: Medium

The final part of the itinerary will see you take in exceptional views of the entire Vajolet Valley as you journey towards Costalunga Pass. Visit the Christomannos Monument, a bronze eagle erected in honour of Theorod Christomannos, the man responsible for the development of the famous Dolomite Road. Your final night will be spent in a 3 star hotel in Val di Fassa.

Day8 Hometime

Hop on your transfer back to the airport, where you will board your flight home to Dublin.
