Your next stop is the capital of the Italian island of Sardinia, Cagliari. It is best known for its Castello which is perched on a hilltop, high above the rest of the town and showcases the history that this city is steeped in. The medieval quarter and the 13th century Cagliari Cathedral are host to a wealth of history waiting to be explored and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Cagliari is home to some impressive bronze objects, Roman ceramics and artifacts from the Nuragic age to the Byzantine era. If history is not your thing, make like the locals and relax at one of the many busy cafes lining the seafront and enjoy a laid back pace, while enjoying some world class coffee.

Arrive to Valencia, Spain’s third largest city! It is a modern place to explore with thriving cultural, culinary and nightlife scenes. The architecture in the area is innovative and there are some very striking, futuristic buildings in the City of Arts and Sciences, which are a sight to behold. But as well as this, the city also maintains a characterful old quarter which is charming and quaint and deserves some exploration. It is highly recommended to grab a spot of lunch here in Valencia, as it is well known as being a great place for food, particularly the classic Spanish dish of Paella.

For those preferring a more historical experience, Topflight recommends visiting the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde, the Romano-Byzantine basilica perched on the city’s highest hill, La Garde.
