Caorle is a popular seaside resort close to Lido di Jesolo, north of Venice. It has large beaches, a pretty and colourful historic centre and a rich heritage as a fishing village.

This is an ideal resort for a relaxing holiday by the sea. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade or, just behind the seafront, while away some hours in the charming town centre with its delightfully painted houses and picturesque little squares and alleyways.

Before it was discovered as a paradise for holidaymakers, Caorle was a fishing port and it still retains a thriving fishing industry. Surrounded by waterways, it is pretty much an island connected by bridges. The historic centre sits on a small promontory with beaches on either side. The main square, Piazza Vescovado, is dominated by the town’s cathedral and the striking belltower. There are lots of shops, restaurants and pavement cafés where you can sit and rest with a drink or an ice-cream looking out over the busy streets.
Because of its location, Caorle is ideally placed for day trips to Venice and Verona, both of which make a great day out if you want a change from relaxing on the beach.

Approximate transfer time from Venice airport: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Approximate transfer time from Verona airport: 2 hour 30 minutes - 3 hours.

Freedom on two wheels!
Bicycles are available to hire and it’s a great way to get around and explore the town and surrounding areas.

Or take a train
If cycling seems like too much effort (even though the area is very level) you could catch the ‘Orient Express,’ a little tourist train which runs about the town, departing from the centre morning and evening.

Art for Art’s Sake
The Cathedral of St. Stephen contains many masterpieces of the Venetian school of art, the most important of which is The Last Supper, painted by Gregorio Lazzarini.

Have fun at the beach
Caorle’s well maintained beaches are said to be among the finest in Italy. As well as swimming, sunbathing and watersports, lots of family-oriented activities take place here and for older children there are pedaloes and ice-cream parlours.

Family day out
Treat the kids to a day at the fun fair Lunapark or the waterpark, Acquafollie.
