Bellaggio is a delightful village with narrow, winding streets and occasional live music in high season. Menaggio has a lively promenade and a small boat harbour, ideal for watersports and trekking in the hills. Lying on the sunny western shore, Cadenabbia’s attractions include a Romanesque church, beautiful villas and a lovely lakeside promenade. Just 1km south of Cadenabbia, Tremezzo is a popular resort featuring the renowned Villa Carlotta surrounded by beautiful gardens. Moltrasio is an enchanting village built on a mountain side with panoramic views of the lake.

A ferry trip around the heart of Lake Como, between the towns of Bellaggio, Varenna, Menaggio and Cadenabbia, is a must.

An hour’s drive north of Como, Lido di Lenno’s sandy beach is an isolated spot that’s loved by locals and visitors alike. The small entrance fee is worth it. Learn to cook! Il Caminetto restaurant in Varenna offers popular lessons in authentic Italian cooking (about €38 per person).
