The main town in the beautiful Zillertal Valley, Mayrhofen is considered one of the world’s foremost ski and snowboard resorts. It has two ski areas - Ahorn and Penken - forming part of the vast Ski-Zillertal 3000 region, with 159km of pisted runs. The lift pass covers the entire region with its state-ofthe- art lift system, able to transport 60,000 skiers per hour. An extension to the nearby Hintertux Glacier is available locally. The town itself has lots of interesting shops and beautiful frescoed buildings. It is renowned for its lively nightlife, superb skiing and excellent ski and snowboard schools.

Après Ski

Mayrhofen comes alive with numerous traditional stüberls, beer kellers, bars and night spots to suit every taste. Scotland Yard pub, Schlussel Alm, the Arena disco (for the young and lively), the Ice Bar and Mo’s are just a few bars to visit. Popular restaurants include The Grill Kuchl, Mamma Mia, Mount Everest and Zum Griena. Other activities include sleigh rides, ice skating, tobogganing, skidooing and snow shoe walking.
