About Andorra
Perched high up in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, the principality of Andorra is renowned both for its quality skiing resorts and duty-free goods. Skiing here is ideal both for beginners and intermediates alike and offers even advanced skiers some challenging runs.
If you share a passion for skiing with family and friends, enjoying carefree sunny days in powder-white snow, then Andorra is your kind of resort. Its slopes are not excessively steep and its natural beauty and family atmosphere make it a true skier’s paradise.
Andorra boasts an excellent snow record and 300 days of sunshine a year. The main resorts of Arinsal/Pal, and Soldeu/El Tarter are
picturesque, friendly and offer great value for money. Families are well catered for with kindergarten facilities and ski schools for all ages. Equally, there is a vibrant nightlife and après ski is the order of the day wherever you stay.
Andorra has a host of duty-free shops, bars, restaurants and discos, offering something for everybody. For relaxation visit the Internationally famous Spa Centre at Caldea, with its swimming pools, jacuzzis, hydromassage and other therapies, and just feel yourself unwind.

Currency
Most banks open from 08.30am to 12.30pm and 3.00pm to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 12.00 Saturdays. ATMs are available 24hrs.
The currency used is the Euro. The Credit Cards most widely accepted are Mastercard & Visa.
Food
Catalan cuisine, consisting mainly of grilled & barbecued meats, is the local food in Andorra. There are many good restaurants and bordas serving international and Catalan dishes at reasonable prices. Lunch is usually served from 1.00pm to 3.00pm and dinner from 8.00p.m to 10.00pm. Eating out is reasonable with a 3 course meal costing anything from €9 upwards.
Drink
While Andorra is a Duty Free Haven, all alcoholic drinks are cheaper when purchased in supermarkets. While partaking in après ski, prices are relatively cheap for local spirits & beers but watch out there is no such thing as a small measure!
Languages
Andorra is the only place where Catalan is its official language. However Spanish, French and English are widely spoken.

Ski Packs:
Topflight have arranged pre-bookable ski packs in all resorts. These include the hire of skis, boots, snowboards, tuition, lift passes and special 'Learn to Ski/Snowboard' packs. Details of cost etc are featured in the resort guide in the brochure. Please indicate your requirements when booking. Our 'Learn to ski/snowboard' pack prices generally represent a saving on resort prices.
Andorra ski school enjoys a reputation as one of the best in Europe. The English speaking instructors take great pride in instilling confidence in the pupils and at the same time having great fun. Classes are available for beginners and other grades. They are generally for three hours daily and are available morning and afternoon, 15 hrs weekly.
Lift Passes:
In Andorra, there is only one type of lift pass and all skiers are required to purchase one. However, the cost is considerably cheaper than in other European Ski Resorts. Lift passes sometimes require a passport size photo, see resort pages in brochure for details.
