Your holiday itinerary
Day 1: Dublin-Catania
Depart Dublin on a direct flight to
Catania airport where you will be met by
Topflight’s representative. You will be
transferred by luxury air conditioned
coach to the 4* Hotel Sabbie d’Oro in
Giardini Naxos
where you will stay for seven nights on a
Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 2: Mount Etna
After breakfast, join us for an excursion
with English speaking guide to Mount
Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano. Our
comfortable coach takes us to 1900m
from where you can visit Silvestri’s
craters and, for those who don’t wish to
trek up the hot lava, you can get to the
main crater by cable car and jeep
(payable locally). Lunch is at your leisure
(price not included).
Day 3-4: Giardini Naxos
Take time to settle into the picturesque
resort of Giardini Naxos, a pretty seaside
town with well kept, sandy beaches and
streets lined with shops, cafés and
restaurants. The resort offers plenty of
activities for watersports lovers. You will
also have an opportunity to enjoy all the
amenities of Hotel Sabbie d’Oro which
overlooks the beach and is just steps
away from the town centre.
Day 5: Syracuse
This one day coach tour explores the
magnificent city of Syracuse on the south
eastern coast, the only place in Europe
where papyrus is still cultivated to make
paper. See the Greek Theatre, the Roman
amphitheatre and other wonders of the
archaeological sites. Visit Ortigia island
with Arethusa’s Fountain and the Temple
of Apollo. (Lunch and optional entry to
the Jewish Baths not included).
Day 6: ‘Godfather’ Tour
This tour begins with a scenic drive to
Savoca. Upon arrival, we will walk to Bar
Vitelli where some of the scenes from
the film Godfather were filmed. Later in
the day we visit Forza d’Agro, an
attractive medieval hamlet where some
of the scenes from Godfather III were
shot with Al Pacino and Sofia Coppola.
Day 7: Giardini Naxos
After all that sightseeing, you’ll need a
day to relax again and enjoy your last full
day as you wish in Giardini Naxos.
Day 8: Catania-Dublin
Transfer to Catania Airport for your
return flight to Dublin.
